Creating Safe and Inclusive Schools: Preventing Cyberbullying

Course Fee per person

Up to € 480 (Fully Funded)

Course Description

Cyberbullying is an evolving challenge for schools, affecting learners’ wellbeing, relationships and sense of safety both online and offline. Aligned with current European priorities on preventing and addressing cyberbullying, this course equips educators and school staff with practical knowledge and strategies to prevent, identify and respond effectively to cyberbullying in today’s digital environment. Participants will explore how cyberbullying occurs across social media, messaging and group chats, gaming platforms, anonymous accounts and online communities, as well as emerging forms involving AI-generated or manipulated content and deepfakes.

Through realistic case scenarios, collaborative activities and practical exercises, participants will learn to recognise warning signs and group dynamics, strengthen Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), promote positive peer and bystander action, support learners affected by cyberbullying and communicate effectively with families. Particular attention is given to inclusive prevention and coordinated whole-school responses. By the end of the course, participants will develop a practical Cyberbullying Prevention & Response Action Plan that can be adapted to their own educational setting.
